Strengthening the integrated rural development project in Kitshini

Located on the Batéké plateau and precisely in Kitshini village, the project is supporting 156 farmers since December 2016, for a period of one year. It is funded by the Korean Agency for International Cooperation (KOICA)
The overall objective of the project is to improve the livelihoods of Kitshini farmers by increasing their income and improving the village environment.


To achieve this goal, HPP-Congo will work to create the following changes:

  • Increase agricultural production to improve the economic situation of farmers.
  • Develop a profitable chicken production model.
  • Strengthen the managerial capacities of the members of the Management Committee of the Kitshini Farmers' Cooperative known as COOPAKI.
  • Strengthen the capacity of all Kitshini farmers to increase agricultural production.
  • Improve the health situation of the population through awareness campaigns on the drinking water consumption and sanitation of the village through the construction of sanitary latrines, the digging of garbage holes, etc.
  • Run all the cycles of the school built by KOICA.
  • Create good water management systems, truck management to transport products for sale to potential markets and organize the sale of products.
  • Decide how the community can benefit from the processing and machining center, equipped with machines but not in used, as well as the use of other infrastructures built by KOICA but not occupied or allocated.
