A satisfaction for HPP-Congo to learn the news of the awarding of Nobel Peace Prize to the WFP on Friday, October 09, 2020. Indeed, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has made a wise choice in awarding to WFP this Nobel Peace Prize. The WFP is rewarded for its efforts to fight hunger, for its contribution to improving peace conditions in conflict-affected areas and for playing a leading role in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict. Eradicating hunger and poverty in the world are part of its daily struggle and commitment.

WFP's contribution to improving the living conditions of destitute people is unequivocal. It feeds nearly 100 million hungry people every year. Food security, peace and stability goes hand in hand, because there can be no peace when there is hunger. But where there is conflict, there is no peace, but there is hunger. This Nobel Peace Prize is not only awarded to WFP, but also to governments, organizations and private sector partners committed to helping the hungry and vulnerable are part of their struggle and commitment. This pleasure of working with WFP in social cohesion, allows communities to organize themselves to improve living conditions which is the primary mission of HPP-Congo.
